The Philippine Financial Summit (PFS) 2018 is the flagship event of UP JFA’s Investment Month 2018. The summit will focus on gathering and empowering students and young professionals from the most outstanding organizations in the Philippines.
Through the years, UP JFA has stayed true to its vision of spreading financial literacy with various initiatives and events. This year, we focus on making finance more inclusive. Our goal is to make a wider range of people appreciate and understand the role of finance in their lives.
The event was started off by our keynote speaker, SharePHIL Trustee and BDO Capital and Investments, Corp. President, the distinguished Eduardo Francisco. He related to the crowd his life experiences, not only of his triumphs but also of his travails. In doing so, he not only was able to give valuable life advice to the audience, but moving forward, inspired them to never give up.
For our panel, joining Atty. Agnes Bailen of the DBM and Atty. Darlene Berberabe formerly of the Pag-IBIG Fund were Conrado Bate, CEO and President of COL Financial, and Jonathan Ravelas, First Vice President and Chief Market Strategist of BDO Unibank, both active members of SharePHIL. While the former two provided the government perspective on financial literacy and inclusivity, the latter two provided the private sector point of view. During the panel proper, they were both able to convert their technical expertise in the field of finance to impart on the audience the importance of financial inclusivity in creating a brighter Philippines.
